God has called us to serve as missionaries in the city of Birmingham U.K. The goal is to develop a network of pioneers, disciple makers and microchurch planters in every postcode across Birmingham. Read more HERE! Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”. With the regular financial support of individuals and local churches, we can be released to serve God as workers in the harvest field of Birmingham and beyond.
Two obstacles we’re learning to overcome. Firstly, we’re British and therefore not very good at asking for financial help. We don’t talk money! Secondly, we’re not going to a foreign land, so often people don’t think we need or should get support. But as British people, we know the language, we know the culture, we have had years of training and experience and we are ready to go. Could you release us?
This chapter of our journey began in 2022 and we have experienced God’s miraculous provision. So many prayers were answered, not always in the ways we expected, but always in the way God intended. However, money didn’t fall from heaven, God prompted friends, family and churches to step out in faith and give financially. Some gave a one-off gift, others give monthly. We have really seen God build a community to support us and meet our needs (Acts 4:32-37).
We actively seek God for other income streams, using the gifts God has given us. Andy looks for speaking engagements, funerals, ministry opportunities and funding for the community choirs we have started to engage with our community. Andrea started ABeeCrafts hoping to provide an additional source of income. However, this has still left a shortfall.
30% Shortfall
This year has been tough but we have seen God at work. Just this week we had 14 pence in our account, but before the day had ended, we received an unexpected financial gift. God is good and provides, but with the wisdom of our accountability group we recognise we need to increase our support. This was highlighted through a process to open a Stewardship Account. We had to submit and gain approval of our annual budget and this confirmed our need to raise another 35%!
